Visit of Vietnamese Senior Officials from Various
Government Ministries, 30 October 2006
At the
request of the Asian Institute of Technology Center in Vietnam (AITCV),
the Faculty's Asia-Pacific Centre for Environmental Law (APCEL), hosted a
one-day seminar on the implementation, compliance and enforcement of
environmental laws in Singapore and the role of ASEAN in this area.
The purpose of the study visit is to assist Vietnam in the establishment
of an environmental police force and also to exchange experiences in the
area of environmental management between Vietnam and Singapore. The
director of APCEL, Prof KL Koh, and its deputy director, Assoc Prof Lye
Lin Heng, were resource persons for the seminar.
