Kathryn Aguirre Worth Memorial Scholarship
The scholarship was established to honour the memory of Kathryn
Aguirre Worth, an American attorney with White & Case LLP, who was on
board the ill-fated Silk Air flight MI 185 on 19 December 1997. The
scholarship fund was made possible by contributions from White & Case
LLP, Standard Chartered Bank and other donors in Singapore and New York.
Eligibility
The scholarship to be awarded in 2008 is open to NUS LLB graduates from
the classes of 2003 to 2007 who will pursue an LLM degree at an
accredited law school in the United States and qualification as a US
lawyer.
Terms of Award
The scholarship will provide a stipend of US$15,000 to defer US law
school tuition expenses.

- The closing date for applications is 15 April 2008.
Selection Process
Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend interviews by the
Selection Committee. Tentatively, interviews will be held in end April or
early May 2008.
The Organization does not base its selection in any way on the employment
status of the applicant or any relative of the applicant. Relatives of
members of the selection committee are not possible recipients. There will
be no restrictions or limitations in the selection procedures based upon
race or the employment status of the prospective recipient or any relative
of the prospective recipient.
